Sacred Pregnancy Ceremony (Mother’s Blessing)

Celebrate your transition into Motherhood.

Sisters holding hands, in this circle we are held.

Sisters holding hands, in this circle we are strong.

Sisters holding hands, in this circle we remember.

Sisters holding hands, in this circle we belong.

- Ayla Schafer

A mother’s blessing (or blessingway) is designed to celebrate the mother, shower her with love and support. Surrounded by the important women of your life we celebrate your transition into motherhood.

Wether it is part of your baby shower or planned as an individual ceremony, it’s a series of beautiful rituals leaving you filled with positive energy, love and connection, ready to embark on your journey into birth and motherhood.

Women gathering in circles hold immense power. Together we remember that we are part of a much bigger universe.

That new life is born through us and that we hold incredible power.

A beautiful space will be created for you filled with music, candles, crystals and flowers.

Sacred Pregnancy Ceremony

(Mother’s Blessing)

Your ceremony could include (but is not limited to) the following rituals:

  • Blooming Flower

Every guest brings a flower that reminds them of the mother. The flowers are placed around the mother and at one point each guest shares why she brought that flower.

  • Candles of Support

A candle is passed around and every woman says quietly or out loud the wishes she has for the mother as she goes into motherhood and birth. When the candle reaches the mother she blows it out and absorbs all the positive energies infused in the candle.

The mother can re-light this candle when she goes into labour.

Also it’s a possibility to have small candles for each guest they can light for mother and baby when they receive the news that she went into labour.

  • The Red Thread

A ball of red yarn is passed around the circle and every woman wraps it around her wrist as a symbol for the net of safety, support and love that is weaved between the women. At the end of this ritual it is cut into individual bracelets that are worn until the mother goes into labour.

  • Birth Necklace

Everyone who is part of the ceremony is asked to bring two beads, one for the mother, one for the baby. With the beads a necklace is created that the mother can wear during birth giving both mother and child strength and support for their birth journey.

  • Belly Art

The mothers belly is painted with pregnancy-safe colours.

  • Cacao Ceremony

Cacao is often referred to as the „mother plant“, supporting us in mothering ourselves. Cacao is also considered heart opening and fosters connection.

About Isabelle

Being immersed in the world of yoga, spirituality and energetics for over ten years now, it wasn’t until my own pregnancy and birth that learned concepts became embodied ones. How much could I let go? Trust the process, the divine order of all things? I felt as if everything I learned in the past years was now being tested.

Many times I wished for somebody to guide me on that path. This path of saying goodbye to my old self and being reborn as a mother. Someone to help me remember my own inner strength and knowing. And I wished for a group of women to walk this path with me.

Today I am doing exactly that. Helping women to cross the threshold into motherhood, transforming overwhelm into calm and trust. Sharing what I’ve learned on my path, holding your hand as life asks you to open and surrender.

You are not alone. You never were. Take my hand sister. Let’s walk through this portal together.

Let me remind you of your magic and strength.

With love, always

Isabelle
